Minnesota’s recreational wolf hunt
Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection believes that public policies should protect animals, not endanger them or cause unnecessary suffering. In collaboration with the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club North Star Chapter, The Humane Society of the United States, and the Minnesota Humane Society, MVAP supports a petition drive initiated by Howling for Wolves that asks the Governor, Legislators and the MN Department of Natural Resources to suspend recreational hunting and trapping of wolves.
There are many compelling reasons to stop recreational wolf hunting, not the least of which is needless suffering caused by traps without a logical rationale or benefit to Minnesotans. The long term survival of Minnesota’s wolf population depends on our willingness to make our voices heard on this issue. More information on the recreational hunt and efforts to suspend it.
